About Cavallo Eyewear

Cavallo Eyewear is a brand of luxury eyewear committed to providing high-quality, fashion-forward eyewear to the equestrian and horse-loving community. Designed by our founder (a lifelong equestrian) for other equestrians, our eyewear considers the unique challenges associated with barn life. Every aspect of the design of our eyewear products is intended to enhance your barn experience while allowing you to step out in style in your everyday life.

Our eyewear is made with premium, durable materials that stand up to the toughest barn chores, withstand falls from horseback, and outlast drops on cement aisle floors – all while protecting one of your most precious assets – your eyes! Let’s face it – equestrians are tough! Our sunglasses should be too.

Offering nylon polarized lenses with scratch-resistant lenses, our sunglasses are designed to give you clear vision and fully protect your eyes from harmful UV rays while riding outdoors. Designed with your comfort in mind, our goal is to enhance every ride, every day, allowing you to ride your best.

Fashion-forward designs allow you to transition seamlessly from your “barn life” to your real life while looking and feeling your best. Elevating your style from the barn to brunch to the boardroom and beyond, our eyewear has you covered. Go from your morning ride to mimosas with friends without missing a beat!

Even better – our sunglasses come with a protection plan. If your sunglasses are damaged while at the barn, we will send you a one-time replacement pair for only $20. Just reach out to us!

With a passion for helping to support various horse rescue and rehabilitation organizations, a portion of every purchase is donated to support the beautiful horses that inspire our brand and need our help. Look Good. Do Good.

Meet Our Founder

Cavallo Eyewear is a woman-owned brand proudly based in Houston, Texas. At the helm is Founder and CEO, Kristin Barrera, a lifelong equestrian with more than 30 years of experience in the saddle. Kristin’s deep-rooted passion for horses and her firsthand understanding of the unique challenges riders face especially when it comes to eye protection served as the driving force behind Cavallo Eyewear.

Inspired by the grace and grit of the equestrian lifestyle, Kristin envisioned a brand that would seamlessly blend performance, protection, and elevated style. But more than that, Cavallo Eyewear is a tribute to the incredible community of women she has encountered throughout her journey-strong, capable, and endlessly supportive. Over the years she has spent in barns and at shows, Kristin has developed long-lasting friendships and learned powerful lessons in resilience, confidence, and self-worth. These relationships and the remarkable women behind them are the soul of Cavallo Eyewear.

Founded on the belief that women deserve to feel both stylish and strong, Cavallo Eyewear is committed to delivering high-performance sunglasses that empower women to look and feel their best whether on horseback or on the go.

Kristin is also a proud mother to four children and a dedicated horse mom to three beloved horses-Paco, Phoenix, and Ricky Bobby. Two of her children compete in American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) shows across the country, and the entire family shares a love for riding and the equestrian lifestyle.

At Cavallo Eyewear, our hope is that every pair of sunglasses you wear not only supports your lifestyle but also becomes a daily reminder of your strength, confidence, and individuality.

Meet Our Team

  • Paco

Handsome Paco is a 10-year old American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) registered appendix gelding. Standing 17 hands tall, he’s a big boy with an even bigger personality! He’s technically brown, but looks nearly black during the winter. Paco competes nationally in AQHA hunter/jumper events.

  • Phoenix

Beautiful Phoenix is a 3-year old American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) registered appendix mare. Currently standing about 16’2 hands, she should grow for about another 18 months. She’s a beautiful chestnut mare with 3 white socks! Phoenix is currently learning to jump.

  • Ricky Bobby

Contrary to his name, Ricky Bobby doesn’t like to go fast! He is a 20-year old American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) registered gelding and a lazy old guy! Standing only about 14 hands, and about as wide as he is tall, RB loves the Western Pleasure classes. He’s a “been-there-done-that” horse who loves kids!
